Daniel Bonade was one of the greatest clarinet teachers of the early 20th century.
He gave his name to a simple but particularly effective ligature that lets the reed vibrate on two rails for excellent hold.

- The reverse Bonade has the screws above the mouthpiece
- The normal Bonade has the screws below the mouthpiece, reed side.
